Majority of the Western African countries are located close to the Atlantic Ocean and some of the biggest cities in this region are Lagos in Nigeria, Abidjan in Ivory Coast, Abuja also in Nigeria, Kumasi in Ghana and Port Harcourt in Nigeria. The largest ethnic groups in the region are Wolof, Fulani, Igbo, Akan and Yoruba. The West African region has an estimated area mass of about 5,112,903 km square with a combined population of approximately 362,201,579.

The Map of Ghana: Ghana is sandwiched in between Togo to the right and Cote d’ Ivoire to the left. To the North, Ghana is boarded by Burkina Faso. Down South, the Atlantic Ocean surrounds it.
The Map of Guinea: Guinea is boarded by six countries. Sierra Leone and Liberia to the South, Ivory Coast to the East, Mali to the North and North East while Senegal and Guinea Bissau to the North West. The Western part of Guinea is surrounded by Ocean.
The Map of Guinea Bissau: Guinea Bissau is surrounded by just two West African countries. Senegal to the North and Guinea to the South and South East. The Western region of Guinea Bissau is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean.
The Map of Liberia: Liberia is boarded by three West African Countries namely Guinea to the North, Ivory Coast to the East while Sierra Leone to the North West. The Southern part of Liberia is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean.
The Map of Mali: Mali is a land locked country that is sometimes not considered as part of West Africa. It is surrounded by Algeria to the North, Niger and Burkina Faso to the East and Southern East respectively, Cote d’Ivoire and Guinea to the South, Mauritania and Senegal to the West respectively.
The Map of Mauritania: Mauritania is surrounded by Western Sahara to the North West, Algeria to the North, Mali to the East and South East, while Senegal boarders the South. The West is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean.
