Election comes and election goes! But who are the current leaders in West Africa that has been produced by their people’s vote? In this post I will briefly share with you the lists of currently serving West African presidents.

Benin

 Patrice Talon is the current president of Benin. His full name is Patrice Guillaume Athanasa Talon. Talon assumed office as the president of Benin on the 6th April 2016. The 59 years old president of Benin succeeded Thomas Boni  Yayi. He is married to Claudia Gbenagnon and a graduate of the University of Dakar.

Burkina Faso
Roch Marc Christain Kobore is the current president of Burkina Faso. Roch came into power since 2015, December 19th. He succeeded Micheal Kafando who acted briefly as thee chairman of the NCD.
Ghana
The current serving president of Ghana is Mr. Nana Akufo Addo. He resumed duty as the president of Ghana in January 2017. The 73 years old president of Ghana is married to Rebecca Akufo Addo and is blessed with four daughters. Mr. Nana Akufo Addo succeeded the former president John Dramani Mahama.

Gambia
Mr. Adama Barrow is the current serving president of Gambia. Adama came into office in 2017 following his landslide victory over the former Gambian president Yahya Jammeh. The 52 year old president is married to Sarjo Mballow and Fatou Bah and is blessed with a son Habibu Barrow.

Senegal
Senegal current present is Macky Sall. Macky assumed power in April 2012. The 55 year old Senegalese president id married to marieme Faye Sall. Macky Sall succeeded the former Senegalese president Abdoulaye Wade.

Nigeria
Muhammadu Buhari is Nigeria’s current president who assumed office in 2015. The 74 year old president succeeded the former Nigerian president Mr. Goodluck Jonathan. Buhari is married to Aisha Buhari. They are blessed with five children with Zarah Buhari being the eldest.

Guinea
Alpha Conde is the current president of Guinea. Alpha ascended into office in 2010. The 79 year old Guinean president is married to Djene Kaba Conde. He succeeded Idriss Deby. He is currently the Chairperson of the African Union.

Guinea Bissau
President Jose Mario Vaz is currently the serving president of Guinea Bissau. Jose came into power in June 2014. The 59 year old Guinean leader is married to Rosa Teixeira Goudiaby. Jose Mario Vaz succeeded Manuel Serifo Nhamadjo who acted for a while.

Togo
Faure Gnassingbe is the current serving president of Togo. He assumed power in 2005. The 51 year old Togolese president id married to Nana Ama Kufuor. He succeeded Bonfoh Abass in 2005 and has been in power for 31 years now.

Liberia
The current president of Liberia is Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. The veteran politician came into power in 2006. Ellen is a divorcee to Mr. James Sirleaf. She is blessed with 3 children.  Ellen Johnson Sirleaf succeeded the former Liberian president Moses Blah.

Mali
Ibrahim Boubacar Keita is the current president of Mali. He came into office in 2013. The 73 year old Malian president is married to Keita Aminata Maiga and is blessed with a child Karima Keita.

Sierra Leone
Ernest Bai Koroma is the current serving president of Sierra Leone. He assumed power in 2007. The 64 year old president is married to Sia Koroma and is blessed with Alice and Danke Koroma. Mr. Ernest Bai Koroma succeeded the former Sierra Leonean Leader president Ahmed Tejan Kabbah.

Cape Verde
Jorge Carlos Fonseca is currently he president of Cape Verde. He came into office in 2011. The 67 years old Cape Verdean president is married to to Ligia Fonseca.

Cote d’lvoire
Alassane Quattara is Ivory Coast current serving leader. Mr. Quattara assumed office in 2010. He is married to Dominique Quattara and is blessed with two children; Dramane and Fanta Quattara.

Niger
Mahamadou Issoufou is the current serving president of Niger. Issoufou came into power in 2011. He is married to Aissata amd Malika Issoufou.

Mauritania
Mohammed Quld Abdel Aziz is the current serving president of Mauritania. He assumed office since 2009. Mr Abdel Aziz is married to Mariam Ahmed Tekber Dit.
